This is a Tudor silver sixpence of Queen Elizabeth, minted in London in 1578. ANG' FR ET HI REGINA. Elizabeth, by the Grace of God, Queen of England, France and Ireland. Crowned bust left, rose behind, mintmark. I have made God my helper. Square topped shield quartered by long cross fourchee dividing legend, date above. This is a good coin in excavated condition, the flan is a bit wavy (see photos). This coin is unconditionally guaranteed be an original and to date from the period described.
