RMS Queen Elizabeth White Star Line Caddy Spoon. This is a very rare RMS Queen Elizabeth White Star Line Caddy Spoon. It is silver plated and measures about 3 inches in length.
Enamel is in excellent condition but there is some wear to the silver plate, but the current condition and appearance gives this caddy spoon a feel of history. The spoon shows the flag of the White Star Line and the Flag of a lion holding a world globe which is the flag of Cunard. This is Cunard White Star Line history. A caddy spoon is used to measure out dried forms of tea leaves and were common in the 19th century when tea was more expensive commodity.
Tea was sometimes stored in elaborate boxes or containers called Caddies and these spoons were made to be used with such containers. This spoon represents the era of Queen Elizabeth who was the consort to King George VI.
