1974 Queen's Silver Wedding Anniversary Sterling Silver Gilt Queen's Beasts Spoons boxed set LE of 2000. A complete and cased set of the ten Queens Beasts spoons issued to celebrate the Queen's silver wedding in 1974. There were only 2000 sets made, limited edition.
This one is in excellent condition. The silver spoons are complimented by the gilded beasts on the handle.
Each spoon represents one of the heraldic beasts of the crown. The Lion of England The Griffin of Edward III The Falcon of the Plantaganets The Black Bull of Clarence The White Lion of Mortimers The Yale of Beaufort The White Greyhound of Richmond The Red Dragon of Wales The Unicorn of Scotland The White Horse of Hanover. Each spoon is hallmarked for London 1974 and were made by the famous silversmiths Richard Comyns of London. A very exquisite and beautiful set! Each spoon is 4.75 inches or 12cms long & Heavyweight solid silver.Very minor scuffs to the box. The box measures 15 inches by 6 inches or 38cms by 15cms.
