The bowl of the ladle carries the hallmark of Queen Elizabeth II to celebrate her Silver Jubilee in 1977. The bowl is oval and fluted in the Georgian style. The stem is made of a fruitwood with a barley twist, topped by a silver ferrule and anchored into a single silver stem attached to the bowl. Gild wash to the bowl interior. Patina from use and some roughness in the flute creases and bowl rim from the manufacturing process. The hallmarks are rubbed, particularly the makers mark but all are clearly identifiable. The queen's head is positioned in the centre of the hallmarks. In summary an elegant and useful ladle with the collectible hallmark of the queens head used for the Silver Jubilee year.
